The Dosrius City Council has installed three new smart sensors to study air quality in the municipality, adding to the five already in place. Two of the new devices have been located in Can Massuet and a third in Dosrius.

This action is part of a study promoted by the City Council with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council, which will allow for real-time analysis of atmospheric pollution levels. The objective is to measure and evaluate air quality at different points in the municipality, compare the results, and identify potential differences and similarities between the selected locations.
The installed sensors allow for real-time measurement of pollutant concentrations such as fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), and ozone (O₃). These indicators are key to analyzing air quality in urban environments, where vehicle traffic and other human activities influence pollution levels.
The devices use electrochemical sensors to detect nitrogen dioxide and ozone, and optical sensors to measure suspended particles. Once the study is completed, the results will be published on the municipal website.
