The Mossos d'Esquadra have located and identified several members of juvenile gangs from Mataró as the alleged perpetrators of the brutal assault on two young people last Saturday in Argentona.

Following the complaint filed by the two victims, the investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra has allowed the location and identification process of the aggressors to begin. They are youths residing in the Rocafonda and Cerdanyola neighborhoods of Mataró, known to the police for causing violent incidents at neighboring town festivals, where they are sometimes called “party wreckers.”
The attack took place last Saturday during the La Minerva Festival in Argentona, when a group of about 20 people assaulted a 16 and 18-year-old couple without apparent conflict. The girl suffered a skull fracture from which she is still recovering, while the boy is recovering from numerous contusions.

Zero tolerance towards any act of violence and we show our indignation at the institutional management.

Police sources indicate that most of the aggressors have previous records for similar acts, facilitating their identification thanks to images shared on social media. Although there are no arrests yet, the priority is to interrogate all participants. The Argentona City Council has expressed its “absolute rejection” of the aggression and confirmed it is in contact with the affected families.
