The Malgrat de Mar Local Police ordered the temporary closure of a butcher shop on Mediterrània Avenue this February after discovering significant public health risks and a total lack of permits.

During an inspection on February 20, officers found the establishment lacked an activity license, insurance, and sanitary registration. Inside, they documented critical hygiene failures, including accumulated filth, rodent droppings, and meat products in poor condition.
This action is part of a broader operation in the Malgrat Nord neighborhood. Between February 16 and 22, seven other businesses were inspected, resulting in fines for unauthorized terrace expansions and one report for drug possession in a local barbershop.
The inspections are integrated into the Comprehensive Intervention Plan launched in November. This initiative addresses community concerns regarding drug sales, antisocial behavior, and public health issues raised by local residents.
