This distinction, granted by the ITEMAS Platform, promoted by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, recognizes R&D&I projects with a real impact on healthcare practice. The Banc de Sang application was created in 2022 with the primary goal of improving patient safety and the traceability of the entire blood transfusion process, ensuring safer and more effective administration.
The Corporació de Salut del Maresme i la Selva (CSMS) is an associated unit of ITEMAS through the Innovation Support Unit of the Girona region. This unit is coordinated by the Dr. Josep Trueta Biomedical Research Institute of Girona (IDIBGI). This link ensures that projects receive scientific and technical advice for their effective application within the health system.
With this new recognition, the Banc de Sang project becomes the fifth project from the CSMS–IDIBGI Digital Health Group to be distinguished by ITEMAS. This solidifies the Corporació's trajectory in digital health innovation, safety, and efficiency, positioning it as a benchmark for technological solutions with a direct impact on improving patient health.
