Driverless car plunges down embankment into Mataró park

The vehicle was parked on Ramon Turró boulevard and rolled backwards into Can Boada Park.

An empty passenger car plunged down an embankment yesterday, Wednesday, March 18, in Mataró, ending up in Can Boada Park in an incident that resulted in no injuries.

The incident took place shortly before 6:00 PM at the intersection of Euskadi Street and Ramon Turró Boulevard. According to reports, the car was parked in a loading zone when it began to roll backwards across the road with no occupants inside.
The vehicle crossed the entire street without hitting other cars or pedestrians before falling down the slope into the Can Boada Park green area. Fortunately, no one was in the vehicle's path at the time of the accident.
Mataró Local Police and two units from the Fire Department arrived at the scene. Emergency crews cordoned off the area to ensure safety and managed to recover the vehicle from the bottom of the embankment.
