The Fire Brigade extinguished a serious fire last night that completely destroyed a ground floor apartment located in Jaume II el Just passage, in Mataró.

Emergency services received the alert at 10:44 PM. The fire spread through the facade from the living room window, which suffered the most significant damage. The resident managed to escape the building safely before the interior was gutted by flames.
Six fire engines were deployed to the scene in the Pla d'en Boet neighborhood. Neighbors were ordered to stay inside their homes as a precaution while crews worked to control the blaze, which was brought under control by 11:08 PM.
Medical staff from SEM treated two individuals at the scene, but no serious injuries were reported. After ventilating the smoke-filled staircase, the lockdown for residents was lifted shortly after midnight at 12:14 AM.
