Representatives from the town councils of Malgrat de Mar, Palafolls, and Blanes, along with the Generalitat and the Catalan Water Agency, met this week in Palafolls to analyze the future of the Pla de Grau and the lower section of the Tordera river.

The meeting coincided with a farmers' protest, who gathered with tractors in front of the Palafolls Town Hall to express their rejection and concern. This mobilization arose from an announcement made by the ACA during a congress previously held in Malgrat de Mar.

"We admit a lack of communication in the process and want to convey a message of tranquility to the sector."

After the meeting, a municipal spokesperson acknowledged the need to improve communication in the process and sought to calm the agricultural sector. They explained that an initial study has been commissioned, which will include a participatory process, and that no definitive decisions have been made yet.
The issue will be discussed in more detail at an assembly of the Espai Agrari de la Baixa Tordera, scheduled for May 12.
