The hospital's Breast Pathology Unit has successfully implemented this pioneering technique, which precisely removes affected axillary lymph nodes, thereby improving patient recovery. Around twenty women have already benefited from this procedure in recent months.

Endoscopic lymphadenectomy, performed on an outpatient basis, minimizes incisions, reduces postoperative pain, accelerates functional recovery, and enhances arm mobility, thus avoiding hospital admission and allowing patients to recover comfortably at home.

According to Sandra López Gordo, surgeon and unit coordinator, the accumulated experience confirms the technique's safety and its direct contribution to improving women's quality of life during treatment.

Breast cancer remains the most common tumor among women in Catalonia, with approximately 5,600 new cases diagnosed annually. Advances in early diagnosis and treatments have increased the five-year survival rate to 89%.
