The program utilizes minimally invasive techniques such as gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. Specialized medical and nursing staff provide home follow-up during the critical first 48 hours to monitor the patient's progress and prevent complications.

Eligible patients must be between 18 and 65 years old, clinically stable, and live within an hour of the hospital in Mataró. This innovative approach by the Maresme Health Consortium aims to reduce hospital-acquired infections and improve the overall patient experience.
