The GI-512 road near Tordera was closed this Tuesday morning after the roadway was flooded due to the rising waters of the Valldemaria stream.

The traffic interruption occurred in the Sant Pere neighborhood, just before the Can Bartolí roundabout, coming from Fogars. This incident represents the primary road disruption registered in the area following the recent heavy rainfall.
Although the stream was the direct cause of the closure, the Tordera River maintains an extremely high volume of water. Near Fogars de la Selva, the flow reached 328 m3/s.
The main risk monitored by emergency services is the potential overflow of the Tordera, although water has not been detected spilling onto the road at any point along the main river course.
Additionally, in the nearby town of Hostalric, emergency services have also had to preemptively close several paths and underpasses due to the risk of flooding.
