The Coordinadora d’Associacions per la Llengua Catalana (CAL) is looking for volunteers to lead Catalan conversation groups in Maresme, thereby expanding the Xerrem program.

The Xerrem initiative, with 18 years of experience, seeks to expand its presence in the Maresme region. To achieve this, the Coordinadora d’Associacions per la Llengua Catalana (CAL) is calling for volunteers willing to lead Catalan conversation groups.
This program is designed for individuals learning Catalan or those needing to improve their oral fluency. The weekly meetings, held in an informal and free setting, aim to enhance oral competence and promote the social use of the language.
According to CAL, the demand for learning Catalan has grown significantly, but available formal courses and practice spaces are often insufficient. Therefore, the organization believes conversation groups are a key tool for creating real speaking opportunities and facilitating the integration of new speakers into the linguistic community.
The Xerrem program employs its own methodology with materials adapted to various levels. Beyond linguistic reinforcement, the project also focuses on fostering social cohesion, intercultural dialogue, and community participation by collaborating with the facilities and entities that host these sessions.
