The Mataró labor calendar for 2026 includes several public holidays that will allow workers to enjoy long weekends before the arrival of summer.

With summer approaching, many workers are already planning short breaks. Fortunately, the Catalunya labor calendar for 2026 includes two non-working days, plus a local holiday in Mataró, in the Maresme region.
The first of these holidays is Friday, May 1st, Labor Day, a national celebration. This date will allow many to enjoy a long weekend. Additionally, Thursday, April 30th, is a day of free disposal for many educational centers in Mataró, according to the Municipal School Council, facilitating a possible four-day bridge if this day off or Monday, May 4th, is requested.
The next local holiday in Mataró will be Monday, May 25th, celebrating Second Easter. This religious holiday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit and its date is variable, as it always falls 50 days after Easter Sunday. Although it is not an autonomous holiday in Catalunya, many localities, including Mataró, have adopted it as their own holiday.
Finally, June 24th, Sant Joan, will offer another opportunity for an extended break. As this year it falls on a Wednesday, those who can request days off could enjoy a "super-long weekend" of five days, combining Monday, June 22nd, and Tuesday, June 23rd, or Thursday, June 25th, and Friday, June 26th, with the weekend.
