Vilassar de Mar commemorates the 242nd anniversary of its independence with the Autumn Festivals, taking place from November 13-16, featuring a diverse program of cultural, musical, and family activities.

The Autumn Festivals in Vilassar de Mar will be held from November 13 to 16, commemorating the 242 years of the municipality's independence, which was formalized on November 19, 1784, with the secession from Vilassar de Dalt. This event aims to highlight the municipality's history, traditions, and collective identity.
The program combines popular culture, historical memory, music, dance, street performances, and family activities, with the participation of local entities. Highlights include the theatrical performance 'Som poble' by La Tropa Teatre, parades, the Entities Fair, a bonfire dinner, and various shows for all ages.
This year, the festivals also include activities for the recovery of local memory. A Stolperstein cobblestone will be placed in memory of Enric Vehils Majà, honoring victims of Nazism. The song 'Bauxes', dedicated to the memory of Enric Illa, will also be presented, and the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Nautical School will be commemorated.
Friday, November 13, will kick off the events with a talk about Blai Bonet, a popular parade, and the performance of 'Som poble'. The day will continue with musical performances and dancing by BAC and La Puntual folk.
On Saturday, November 14, the Fair of Traditional Games will open its doors at Cooperativa L'Obrera. There will also be a guided tour of Vilassar de Mar in the 18th century, exhibitions of giants and dwarfs, sardanas with Cobla Sabadell, the street performance 'Banaba Flup', and the placement of the Stolperstein. The afternoon will feature a fire beasts gathering and parade, a conference on the Nautical School, tastings of traditional and maritime music, and the bonfire dinner, followed by a concert with Police Line Band and DJ Cobo.
On Sunday, November 15, the Fair of Traditional Games will continue. The Entities Fair will bring together the municipality's associative fabric in Plaça Tarradellas, with workshops and exhibitions. Notable events include the presentation of the song 'Bauxes' and the itinerant performance 'Àcid' by Sound de Secà. The evening will conclude with a performance by Meritxell Neddermann Trio.
The festivals will conclude on Monday, November 16, with Lîla Recycled Games and Circus in Plaça del Círcol and a children's animation with a popular chocolate tasting in Plaça de l'Ajuntament, marking the end of the celebration.
