The confinement measure affects approximately 700 people, according to information from the Fire Department. Civil Protection issued an alert to mobile phones of all residents at 3:45 PM, asking them to stay home, close doors and windows, and avoid traveling in the affected area.
The confinement has been extended to urbanizations, scattered homes, and the forest surroundings of Moianès, including the area of Sant Miquel del Fai in the Cingles de Bertí. This decision is taken as a preventive measure and to facilitate firefighting efforts.
A deployment of 38 units, including 31 ground crews and 7 aerial resources, is working on the scene. Specialized units such as the Forest Action Group (GRAF) and Forest Prevention Teams (EPAF) are also participating, along with command reinforcements.
“"If the meteorological conditions do not change, we are optimistic about the fire's evolution"
The Head of Fire Department Support, Robert Zaera, stated that resources are being concentrated on the head and left flank to prevent the fire from approaching the urban center. Despite the area's challenging topography with cliffs and rockfalls, firefighters are hopeful of stabilizing the fire this afternoon. The affected area is estimated at around 10.6 hectares, with support from the region's Forest Defense Groups (ADF).
The fire started around 1:22 PM this Wednesday, Sant Joan's Day, in a scrubland area next to the BV-1341 road. The causes are still under investigation. Initially, a nearby campsite and restaurant were confined due to their proximity to the fire's origin. According to Rural Agents, the affected area spans approximately 14 hectares, primarily forest vegetation, with some agricultural land also impacted.
Concurrently, another fire broke out on Mount Ísil, in Pallars Sobirà, where firefighters and a helicopter are also working. This fire is burning away from the village.
