Protecció Civil (Civil Protection) downgraded the Inuncat plan from alert to pre-alert phase in the Terres de l'Ebre region this Wednesday evening, after intense storms dropped up to 150 liters per square meter in Alcanar.

The decision to lower the warning level was made at seven in the evening, coinciding with the improvement in the weather forecast. However, hours earlier, the maximum alert had been issued, which included sending an ES-Alert message to mobile phones in the Montsià region.
The emergency warning, sent shortly after 5:15 PM, advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and flood-prone areas, as well as to move to the upper floors of buildings if water entered.
Rainfall was extremely intense, especially in the south of the region. In just three hours, 120 liters accumulated in Alcanar, reaching nearly 150 liters throughout the day. More than 100 liters per square meter were also recorded in La Galera.
Due to flooding, the N-340 road near Alcanar and the TP-3318, which connects Ulldecona and Alcanar, had to be closed. Despite the episode subsiding, Protecció Civil continues to urge caution when traveling while rain persists in the southern counties.
