The intense rain forced Protecció Civil (Civil Protection) to initially activate the pre-alert phase of the Inuncat plan, which later escalated to alert status during the storm's peak. Furthermore, an ES-Alert warning message was sent to mobile phones in the Montsià region shortly after 5:15 PM on December 17.
“"There has been no risk situation."
During the two hours of maximum intensity, the 112 emergency number received about twenty calls, mainly from Alcanar. The flooding led to the closure of several roads, including the TP-3318 between Ulldecona and Alcanar, the access to Alcanar via the N-340, and the TP-3311 between Santa Bàrbara and La Galera.
Around seven in the evening, the rain episode subsided, allowing the Inuncat plan to be downgraded back to pre-alert. The most notable rainfall records included 68.6 liters per square meter in Mas de Barberans, 53.3 in Els Alfacs, and 43.5 in Les Cases d’Alcanar.
