The second edition of PICAT, titled Llenya l’Espardenya, is scheduled for January 24 at 6 p.m. at the Auditori de la Fila in Amposta. Admission is free until capacity is reached, reinforcing the commitment to popular culture.
Organized by Ebre Glosa, this year's event will feature glosadors (improvised singers) from all over the Països Catalans (Catalan Countries), emphasizing generational diversity. Registration remains open until January 22 via a form available on the organization's Instagram profile.
“"As a City Council, it is a pleasure to contribute our grain of sand to create synergies that help preserve traditions, in this case through storytelling and improvised song"
The show's format has been adjusted to be more agile and accessible to non-initiated audiences, lasting approximately two and a half hours. The competitive and creative essence is maintained, featuring surprise challenges designed by a ponicana (challenge setter).
A jury of three professionals in language, music, and glosa will evaluate musical quality, rhyme, wit, linguistic correctness, interpretation, and collective work.
“"It is a unique and unrepeatable experience, as the glosadors create their improvisations based on the challenges presented to them"
