The Documentary of the Month cycle will screen the film Dear Flower, directed by the writer Paolo Cognetti, at the Casal Municipal d'Amposta next Friday, January 9, at 8 p.m., offering a reflection on the fragility of the alpine landscape.

The film is a personal journey undertaken by Cognetti through the Monte Rosa massif during a time of drought. The author, known for his work The Eight Mountains, moves away from urban rhythms to revive the memory of the places and the fragility of the natural environment.

Cognetti avoids an alarmist tone about the planet's future, opting instead for listening, silence, and direct experience.

In his directorial debut, Paolo Cognetti travels to the highest altitudes of Monte Rosa accompanied by his dog, Laki, seeking to understand why water is no longer reaching his home. Along the way, he meets long-time acquaintances who explain the meaning of life in the mountains to him.
The screening of Dear Flower will take place at Crta. Simpàtica, 56 and lasts 80 minutes. The ticket price is 4 €. Cognetti, born in Milan in 1978, is a renowned author who won the Strega Prize in 2017 for The Eight Mountains, a work that was also adapted into a film and awarded at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022.
