“"Alcanar is a municipality full of culture, and with the consolidation of En Ruta pel Rocall, we add a very special expression. This new edition offers an excellent program. Lo Rocall is a very important part of our municipality, full of history, like this Torre del Carrer Nou, and we want culture, tradition, and history to go hand in hand."

The Alcanar City Council has presented a new edition of “En ruta pel Rocall,” which will take place on Friday, April 24, as part of the Sant Jordi celebration, aiming to revitalize the historic Rocall neighborhood.
The event's presentation was held at the Torre del Carrer Nou, one of the most prominent heritage elements of the old town. This initiative, which was very well received last year, maintains its philosophy of combining cultural, artistic, and gastronomic proposals to enhance the value of the Rocall neighborhood.
The route will begin at 8:00 PM in the Plaça de la Bassa and will include a total of 23 points distributed throughout the streets of the old town. The program is broad and diverse, designed for all audiences, and includes gastronomic tastings, guided tours, musical performances, and various artistic interventions.
Among the planned activities are DJ sessions, concerts, dance and live music shows, poetry, sound installations, and art and photography exhibitions. Additionally, participatory activities and projects linked to educational centers in the municipality have been scheduled, fostering community involvement.
The initiative involves the participation of various entities and groups from the territory, as well as institutional support from the Diputació de Tarragona. This collaboration is essential to expand the scope of the program and diversify the proposals aimed at all audiences.
The Rocall neighborhood, located in the upper part of Alcanar, is considered the original core of the municipality and preserves heritage and urban elements of great historical value. With this proposal, the City Council aims to promote its knowledge and foster its revitalization through culture.
