The streets of Alcanar and Les Cases d'Alcanar will be transformed into a large open-air art gallery with the VI Art and Flowers Exhibition, which will open on May 2 and feature 54 new works.
This biennial initiative, now in its sixth edition, will fill balconies and commercial storefronts with large-format artworks. The exhibition will take place in Alcanar from May 2 to 24 and in Les Cases d'Alcanar from July 28 to August 2. As a novelty, the exhibition will move to Tortosa, this edition's guest city, from September 14 to 30.

"Being the VI Exhibition means it is an already consolidated event. It has gained a lot of prestige among artists in the area, and from the City Council, we can do nothing but defend and promote it. It is a unique exhibition for its diversity and quality."
The exhibition brings art closer to the public through canvases measuring 2 meters long by 1.5 meters wide, displayed on balconies and in shop windows. Additionally, residents can participate by decorating their balconies with flowers. This edition includes 54 new canvases, 15 of which are by artists from Tortosa and 8 from the ESARDI School (Amposta School of Art and Design), with approximately 150 artists participating.

"Through Art and Flowers on balconies and in shops, Alcanar becomes a large open-air art gallery accessible to everyone. We tend to think that art is only what is in museums, but no, it is something much closer than what is really thought."
The program of activities includes the inauguration on May 2 at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall Square. Previously, on Friday, the small hall of the José Antonio Valls Auditorium will host the talk “When Art writes history, the trace of three generations”. On May 9, also at 7:30 PM, a guided and commented tour of the canvases will be offered.
Among the new works, the announcement poster for this edition stands out, created by an artist residing in Barcelona with strong roots in Les Cases d'Alcanar. The work pays homage to the seafaring women of Les Cases, reflecting their traditional attire.
