The Museu de les Terres de l'Ebre in Amposta will host the 15th edition of the Biografies Ampostines lecture series starting February 19, 2026.

Organized by the URV Campus and the Amposta City Council, the series aims to preserve the memory of individuals who shaped the city's identity. This year's edition focuses on traditional commerce, musical excellence, and local crafts in the Ebro Delta region.
Key figures include the Lafont family, owners of a century-old butcher shop, and Francesc Casanovas, a world-renowned musician who conducted orchestras in New York and Calcutta before leading the local band La Lira Ampostina.
The program concludes on March 5 with a session dedicated to Santiago Montañés, a tailor and fisherman whose life story reflects the traditional way of life in the Montsià county.
