The Amposta Municipal Hall will host a special screening of the documentary Obrint horitzons on Friday, March 6th, as part of the local events for International Women's Day.

Starting at 8:00 PM with an entry fee of 4 euros, the 95-minute film arrives in Montsià following its nomination for Best Documentary at the 2026 Academy Awards.
The story follows Sara Shahverdi, the first woman elected as a city councilor in her Iranian hometown. The film captures her fight to transform a conservative community, her efforts to stop child marriage, and her initiative to teach young girls how to ride motorcycles.
Directed by Mohammadreza Eyni and Sara Khaki, the documentary has received global acclaim. Eyni won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2025, and the film also secured the Audience Award at the Visions du Réel festival.
