Alcanar Municipal Music School is concluding its 25th anniversary celebrations with a special concert on Saturday, June 20th, in the courtyard of the Joan Baptista Serra School.

The Alcanar Municipal Music School (EMMA) will mark the end of its 25th-anniversary commemorations with an extraordinary concert on Saturday, June 20th. The event will take place in the courtyard of the Joan Baptista Serra School and will feature the notable participation of the renowned singer Dàmaris Gelabert, accompanied by the Alcanar Municipal Music Band, as well as the school's students and teachers.
The performance, titled "És l’hora de la banda" (It's Band Time), will cap off a year filled with cultural and educational activities commemorating the school's journey since its inauguration in 2000. In addition to Gelabert, musicians Julen Gerrikabeitia and Vinyet Morral will also collaborate, strengthening the EMMA's educational community.
The 25th-anniversary celebration, which began last December, has highlighted the school's educational work and its contribution to the educational, social, and cultural life of Alcanar. The Councilor for Education and Culture, Xavier Barrera, emphasized the vibrant state of the local music scene, pointing to the Municipal Band's recent victory at the International Band Music Contest of La Sénia. "With EMMA's 25 years, we celebrate the municipality's great musical and cultural moment," stated Barrera, adding that the concert with Dàmaris Gelabert will be "an unbeatable closing point."
Tickets for the event are now available at the Alcanar Municipal Music School and various establishments in Alcanar, Les Cases d’Alcanar, La Sénia, and Ulldecona. The activity is supported by the Alcanar City Council, the EMMA Parents' Association (AMPA), the Tarragona Provincial Council, and the Department of Education of the Generalitat.
