The municipality of La Galera, a member of the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities, will participate on April 11 in the international initiative Hola Cerámica! with a free guided tour of its Pottery Interpretation Center.

This activity, which has an international scope and is inspired by the Italian event Buongiorno Ceramica!, seeks to revitalize and highlight the art of pottery in municipalities affiliated with the AeCC. La Galera, recognized for its long pottery tradition, has been part of this association since its creation in 2007.
The proposal for April 11 includes a guided tour of the La Galera Pottery Interpretation Center, known as Terracota. This experience will allow attendees to delve into the history and artisanal process of local pottery, a practice that dates back to the 18th century and is still alive in the town today.
During the tour, participants will be able to observe all stages of clay piece elaboration, from clay extraction to shaping on the wheel and final firing in the kiln. Additionally, the visit will offer information on nearby pottery centers, the peculiarities of local production, the evolution of ceramic uses, and the way of life of potters throughout history.

The Hola Cerámica! initiative is an excellent opportunity for La Galera to showcase the richness of its pottery tradition and connect with other municipalities with similar heritage.

The activity, organized by the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities with the collaboration of Infoceramica, the Spanish-language ceramic information portal, will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 12:00 to 14:00, at the Terracota Museum, located on the ground floor of the La Galera Town Hall.
