“"I am very grateful for the trust that the party members have placed in me. This designation is an honor, but above all, a huge responsibility. The work we have done so far in the areas I manage must be an example of what we are capable of as a team: a team that is preparing to win the next elections and transform Alcanar. We will continue working with the same dedication and the same vocation of service to the residents of the municipality."

Socialist Neus Sancho has been unanimously chosen as the PSC candidate for the mayorship of Alcanar in the 2027 municipal elections, following a long local political career.
The Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC) in Alcanar has designated Neus Sancho as its candidate to lead the municipal list in the upcoming 2027 elections. The decision was made at a local assembly last Saturday, June 6th, where she received unanimous support from party members.
Sancho has extensive experience in Alcanar's municipal politics. She began as a councilor in the opposition in 2018 and, in 2019, led the first PSC candidacy headed by a woman in the municipality. Since then, she has served as a councilor in opposition until last year, when she assumed the role of first deputy mayor, as well as heading the departments of Brigade, Governance, and Strategic Projects, following a government pact.
In parallel to her municipal responsibilities, since 2023, Sancho has been a regional councilor for the Consell Comarcal del Montsià, overseeing the areas of Sports, Culture, Tourism, and Civil Protection. She also chairs the Consell Esportiu del Montsià.
Beyond her political activity, Sancho is a mother to a 13-year-old daughter and presides over a martial arts association in Alcanar. Her involvement in public life and the municipality's associative fabric demonstrates a long-standing commitment to the local community.
