The Mossos d’Esquadra have been investigating the owner of a riding school in Montsià since January 21 for alleged animal cruelty, following a complaint about the deplorable condition of two horses.

The investigation began after two individuals reported the condition of their horses, which they had left under the establishment's responsibility. The clients had previously paid for the transfer and maintenance of the animals during their stay at the facilities.
Upon collecting the equines, the complainants found the animals in a “deplorable” state, according to sources from the Catalan Police. One of the horses, in particular, had severe difficulty standing up, which prompted the filing of the complaint.

The deplorable condition of the animals, one of which had serious difficulty standing up, was the trigger for the police investigation into alleged animal cruelty.

The facts, which point to a presumed crime of animal cruelty, have been brought to the attention of the Investigating Court on duty in Amposta for judicial processing.
