The investigation began in December due to the strong odor emanating from the warehouse and the high fraudulent consumption of electricity and water. The farm, which had been adapted as a laboratory, was equipped with numerous exterior video surveillance cameras and security measures.
Agents seized 1,000 plants in one room and another 2,100 plants that had already been cut and were in the drying phase.
The judicial entry was carried out last Thursday, where agents located a laboratory fully structured for the germination, cultivation, production, and storage of the substance. The rooms had been adapted with sophisticated ventilation, heating, cooling, and lighting systems.
Confiscated materials included high-intensity lamps, industrial carbon filters, fans, compressors, air conditioners, humidifiers, water tanks, and a complex system of electrical transformers to ensure intensive and uninterrupted cultivation. The detainee was brought before the duty court in Amposta on January 30.
