The municipality of La Ràpita hosted on December 16, 2025, the first innovation camp in the Terres de l’Ebre to define collective strategies against the environmental and economic challenges facing the Delta.

The innovation camp, titled "Resilience of the Delta and coastal landscapes in Terres de l’Ebre: opportunities for innovation and development based on territorial resources," is part of the RIS3CAT 2030 strategy. This is Catalonia's Smart Specialization Strategy, promoted by the Government to advance towards sustainable, innovative, and socially just development.
This pioneering initiative was led by the La Ràpita City Council and the ACCIÓ department, which previously identified strategic initiatives through interviews and analysis. The main goal is to build a collective and transformative response for the future of the Ebro Delta, fostering an inclusive and resilient development model.

The objective is to position the Delta as a benchmark in blue, circular, and regenerative economy, generating shared prosperity and preserving natural and cultural heritage.

During the event, representatives from administrations, research centers, businesses, productive sectors, and civil society worked together to validate key issues. These include the effects of climate change, coastal regression, loss of biodiversity, the vulnerability of traditional sectors, and governance difficulties.
The camp also served to build a shared vision for the future of the Terres de l’Ebre, based on the sustainable use of Delta and sea resources, research and innovation, the creation of quality employment, talent retention, ecosystem restoration, and the strengthening of climate resilience.
