A group of three to four thieves rammed a car into the Arrufat Jewelry in the Plaça Major of La Sénia (Montsià) early on Friday, February 6, successfully stealing gold and diamonds in a swift operation lasting barely sixty seconds.

The incident occurred shortly after three in the morning, when the loud crash woke up residents in the town center. The criminals used an Audi vehicle, ramming it repeatedly against the entrance of the store, located right next to the church.
According to Tere Arrufat, the owner who lives in an upstairs apartment, the thieves hit the entrance at least three times, moving the display window half a meter, despite the security glass being reinforced against violent acts. The alarm immediately went off.

"Everything was very fast; they were very well prepared. They knew where the gold was, the gilded items. They did not take the silver pieces or the watches."

Security footage shows three individuals entering through a hole in the metallic shutter. One of them used a sledgehammer to break the display cases while the other two filled large bags with the jewelry. The entire operation lasted only one minute before they fled in a second getaway vehicle, leaving the Audi abandoned with its engine running.
The Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra were immediately notified and set up roadblocks across the Montsià region, but the search yielded no results. Ms. Arrufat confirmed that the loot amounts to thousands of euros, adding that “the insurance is not responsible for everything.”
