The investigation began in December due to the strong odor emanating from the old farm and the high, fraudulent consumption of electricity and water. The warehouse housing the plantation was protected by numerous external video surveillance cameras and security measures.
The judicial entry was carried out last Thursday, where agents located a fully structured marijuana laboratory dedicated to the germination, processing, cultivation, production, and storage of the illicit substance.
The rooms had been adapted with ventilation, heating, cooling, and intensive lighting systems. Agents seized high-intensity lamps and bulbs, industrial carbon filters, compressors, air conditioners, humidifiers, water tanks, and an electrical transformer system to enable intensive and uninterrupted cultivation.
In total, 1,000 plants in the growth phase and 2,100 more that had already been cut and were in the drying process were seized. The detainee, investigated for alleged crimes against public health and electricity fraud, was brought before the duty court in Amposta on January 30.
