The arrest, carried out on Tuesday by the Mossos d'Esquadra, is the result of an investigation initiated after an alert regarding a water leak in a house in the urban center. Municipal guards were notified on April 14, but received no response from the occupants of the house.
Officers who went to the scene observed that the property's windows were boarded up, ventilation systems were operating, and there was a strong smell of marijuana. This evidence led investigators to confirm a very high and irregular electricity consumption, despite no one being registered at the address.
With a judicial order, the Mossos accessed the dwelling on April 15, where they discovered an intensive marijuana plantation. They seized 1,132 plants in an advanced state of growth, in addition to 1,085 grams of dried buds ready for distribution. The property was equipped with ventilation, cooling, and lighting systems, and the electrical installations had been tampered with to ensure continuous operation of the plantation.
The investigations also revealed an electricity fraud estimated at nearly 40,000 euros. The investigation remains open, and further arrests related to this case are not ruled out.
