The meeting with journalists in Les Cases d'Alcanar served to confirm the imminent start of the conditioning works on the T-2021, known locally as the "road of shame," which connects La Ràpita and Poble Nou del Delta. This project, awarded to M I J Grúas for 14.9 million euros, represents the largest investment by the Provincial Council in the territory in the last twenty years.
“"The Tarragona Provincial Council took on a much-needed demand from citizens and local councils to the point where we are now, where we no longer talk about procedures and processes, but about the start of the works."
In addition to the T-2021, provisional dates have been set for other road improvements. Works on the road connecting La Sénia with Roquetes (3.3 million euros) will begin after Easter Week. Improvements to the road from Ulldecona to La Galera via Godall (800,000 euros) are scheduled for September, while the section of the T-324 between Benissanet and the N-420 (2 million euros) is expected to be completed before summer.
Llauradó also confirmed that the Val de Zafán greenway, with an investment of 6.5 million euros (5 million financed by Next Generation funds), will be inaugurated in April. This route will add 23 kilometers, connecting the Ports Natural Park with the Ebre Delta Natural Park. The Provincial Council is also strengthening support against climate change and promoting events such as the Repsol Soletes Gala in Alcanar and logistics for observing the solar eclipse on August 12.
