The municipality of Ulldecona, with 6,814 inhabitants, stands out as one of the most attractive options in the Tarragona region for those seeking tranquility and a natural environment, far from the stress of large cities.
According to the latest Idealista report from June, the average housing price in Ulldecona is around 500 euros per square meter. This figure represents an annual drop of 17.2%, making it the lowest price in the entire province, where the average stands at 1,771 euros.
This trend is part of Spain's growth as a preferred destination for European retirees. INE data shows that in 2023 there were nearly 385,000 foreign residents aged 65 or older, almost double the number recorded fifteen years ago.
The quality of life and climate have led to Spain being chosen for the second consecutive year as the best country to retire, according to the website Live and Invest Overseas. Many opt for towns like Ulldecona, avoiding capitals such as Barcelona, where the purchase price exceeds 5,000 euros per square meter.
