The Barcelona Court is holding a trial this Monday for a man accused of defrauding a couple from Martorell who hired him in 2022 to renovate a house in Cubells, located in the Noguera region.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the defendant provided a quote for a full renovation using a non-existent company. The victims paid a total of 17,280 euros for materials and appliances that were never purchased, as the accused allegedly kept the money for himself.
The construction work lasted only ten days in November 2022. The defendant left the house in a state of ruin, making it uninhabitable. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of two years and three months in prison for fraud.
