In commemoration of International LGBTI+ Liberation Day (June 28th), the Area of Equality and Feminisms of the Comarcal Council of La Noguera has organized a family event to be held in the municipality of Térmens on July 2nd.
The main objective of the day is twofold: firstly, to assert the fundamental right of every person to be who they are and to express their affective, sexual, and gender diversity; and secondly, to raise the visibility of the LGBTI+ community within the La Noguera region. This celebration underscores the commitment to defending LGBTI+ rights, understood as universal human rights, to build a more diverse and respectful society.
The event will commence at 6:30 PM at the Sports Pavilion in Térmens with an institutional presentation. Following this, the Club Patí de Térmens will perform. A parade to the courtyard of the Alfred Potrony School, the central hub of the celebration, will be led by the local giant group “Pota Arromangada”.
Once in the school courtyard, attendees can enjoy a storytelling session with puppets by the company Pantomima. A manifesto will also be read by the association Existim Cercle LGBTIQ+ La Noguera. The program will continue with a family musical show hosted by Marta Pampalona and Mag Reivax. Additionally, throughout the afternoon, Different Beauty from Balaguer will provide a face-painting service, especially for children.
This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Integral Attention Service (SAI) LGBTI+ of the Area of Equality and Feminisms of the Comarcal Council of La Noguera and the association Existim Cercle LGBTIQ+ La Noguera.
