The small village of Vilanova de l'Aguda, located in the Noguera region, is home to Unió Esportiva Vilanova de l'Aguda, the smallest federated football club in Catalonia.

With only 71 inhabitants, the club has survived since 1979 without interruption. They currently play in the Tercera Catalana league, facing teams from much larger towns such as Cervera or Tremp.

"It is not easy to keep a club like this going, but the whole village is involved. We have survived for 47 years."

Josep Capell · President of UE Vilanova de l'Aguda
The club serves as the main social hub for the local area. During match days, the attendance at the stadium often exceeds the total number of permanent residents living in the village.
