From November 13 to 15, Calldetenes will host the Science and Technology Fair, an initiative organized by the City Council aiming to bring scientific knowledge closer and foster vocations, especially among young people.

The fair will offer a diverse program of activities for all audiences, including talks and workshops on topics such as meteorology, environment, astronomy, geology, robotics, recycling, and air quality. The University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) is collaborating in this first edition.
UVic-UCC's participation will include two activities on Saturday, November 14, at the Institut Les Margues. From 5 PM to 8 PM, a demonstration of the E-Green Social Design project will take place, combining recycling, 3D printing, and sustainability to transform recycled materials into new objects, showcasing the operation of 3D printers. Also from 5 PM to 8 PM, the Garrins Metàl·lics robotics team from UVic-UCC will demonstrate autonomous robots, participants in the international Eurobot competition.
The program is complemented by a talk from physicist and meteorologist Eloi Cordomí on meteorology, mineral workshops by Geoleg.cat, activities from the Agrupació Astronòmica d'Osona and the Unió Excursionista de Vic, and a debate on air quality in the Plana de Vic organized by Osona Respira.
The fair, part of the Science Week 2026, will take place at the Auditori Teatre de Calldetenes and the Institut Les Margues. It is organized by the Ajuntament de Calldetenes, Meteocalldetenes.cat, and Meteoguilleries.cat, with the collaboration of UVic-UCC through the project "UDivulga. Ciència i Societat".
