This distinction values the project's innovative and quality contribution, which can serve as a reference for other town councils and local entities. 'Osona al Món' was initiated in the 2022/2023 academic year to address global justice and migration issues with the region's youth.
To date, the project has completed four editions, offering 68 workshops to 1,841 young people in their 3rd and 4th year of secondary education in Osona. Through these workshops, concepts such as inequality, migration, non-discrimination, racism, cooperation, and global justice are explored, fostering a critical and constructive spirit.
The methodology includes a first part led by the Cooperation Service, introducing key concepts, and a second, experiential part where local cooperation agents share their experiences. Additionally, the 'Quadern d'Osona al Món' (Osona at the World Notebook) is published, and the interactive game OSMÓN was created to inform young people about the work of cooperation agents. Each year, students also produce a group video on the workshop's theme.
The project instills essential values such as justice, community spirit, equity, and non-discrimination, considered crucial for building a fairer society and region. The initiative is supported by the Barcelona Provincial Council.
