The Public Prosecutor's Office has formally requested the acquittal of five pro-independence protesters charged with incidents during a Vox political rally in Vic in 2021.

In a document sent to the Vic Court of Instruction number 4, the prosecutor argues there is no evidence that the accused were responsible for throwing objects or damaging vehicles. This stands in contrast to the Catalan Government and Vox, who are acting as private prosecutors and seeking jail time.
The events took place on February 6, 2021, at the Plaça Major in Vic. While the Generalitat is asking for six-month sentences, the far-right party Vox is pushing for up to eight and a half years in prison for crimes including hate speech and public disorder.
