The competition will consist of two rounds. In the morning, the qualifying race will be held at the Montesquiu Castle Park, and in the afternoon, Sant Quirze de Besora will host the grand final of the Catalunya Championship. Both events will be scoring for the Catalan Sprint Cup and the final will also count towards the Catalan O-Peu Cup.
The final will take place mainly in the eastern sector of the municipality, combining the narrow streets of the old town, the banks of the Ter River, the sports area, and residential neighborhoods. This variety of spaces will make Sant Quirze de Besora an attractive venue for a sprint event, with fast sections and points requiring precise navigation and quick decision-making.
The organization has created two new maps for the occasion: one of the Montesquiu Castle Park and another of Sant Quirze de Besora. The championship event also aims to showcase the municipality and its connection to the Ter River, while introducing citizens to a sport that combines physical ability, orientation, strategy, and mental speed.
In addition to the official categories for registered athletes, the day will feature popular categories for those wishing to try orienteering races. This discipline combines physical exercise with map reading and decision-making.
The championship is supported by the Montesquiu Castle Park and the town councils of Sant Quirze de Besora and Montesquiu.
