The Hospital Universitari de Vic has been recognized with the Innova C17 Award for a project applying artificial intelligence to advance the early diagnosis of cardiovascular patients, particularly those with acute coronary syndrome.

The SC-AI-SEST project, driven by professionals from the Hospital Universitari de Vic, received the award during the Campus Clínic Innova Summit. This initiative, promoted by Clínic Barcelona, IDIBAPS, ISGlobal, and Món Clínic, honors innovative projects with the potential to improve healthcare.
The developed technology will serve as a support tool for healthcare professionals, facilitating the early detection of patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome and assessing their risk. The goal is to streamline clinical decision-making, optimize the care pathway, and reduce complications and hospital stays, as time is a critical factor in this condition.
The award was accepted by Gema Muñoz, coordinator of medical services at the Hospital Universitari de Vic, and Josep Miquel Morales, head of the Intensive Care Medicine Unit, representing the project's driving team. The CHV-FHSC manager, Sara Manjón, also attended.
The Innova C17 Awards are supported by the Fundació Vila Casas and Casa Tarradellas. This recognition highlights the capability of professionals from Cercle SiS, CHV-FHSC, to develop projects that address real healthcare needs and improve patient care through innovation and applied research.
