The Mental Health and Addictions Table of Osona and Lluçanès is promoting a campaign with the slogan "Behind an addiction is a person. Let's talk about mental health" to raise awareness about addictions and foster understanding.

In observance of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, the Mental Health and Addictions Table of Osona and Lluçanès has launched a special program throughout October. The initiative focuses on addictions from a person-centered perspective, aiming to break down prejudices and encourage a deeper understanding of addictive disorders.
The campaign emphasizes that behind every addiction lies a personal story and suffering that needs to be heard. Addictive disorders affect various aspects of life and require treatment, as well as supportive relationships and environments that offer care, protection, and recovery opportunities. Therefore, prevention, understanding, and support are advocated as shared community responsibilities.
The central event will take place on October 15th at 5:30 PM in the Pilarín Bayés Library in Vic. The day will begin with the inauguration of the traveling exhibition "Primer-1@", presented by Ruben Del Río (Osonament) and Judit, a project testimonial. Following this, at 6:00 PM, a round table discussion titled "Stories that Accompany: Dialogue between Youth, Family, and Professionals on Addictions" will be held. Both events are free and open to the public.
The "Primer-1@" exhibition showcases testimonials from individuals in recovery from addictive disorders, accompanied by narratives from podcast interviews. The interviewer also has experience in mental health. The project aims to give voice to the protagonists and highlight the diverse realities of addiction. More information and the exhibition schedule are available at osonament.cat/primerprimera.
The round table discussion seeks to foster a space for conversation from various viewpoints: personal experience, family environment, and the perspectives of professionals working in mental health, addiction, and social support. Participants include Pau Quintana (personal experience), Montse Ros (family member), Gerard Bover (Osona Acció Social), Montse Almendros, Ester Rosean, and Toni Leiva (Osona Salut Mental - Cercle SiS), and Memi Martínez (Osonament and Osona Salut Mental - Cercle SiS).
This initiative is organized by the Mental Health and Addictions Table of Osona and Lluçanès, through the World Mental Health Day Commission.
