This achievement marks Garreta's first international podium, solidifying her remarkable progress in the sport. The competition, which took place last weekend, was particularly demanding, testing the endurance of the participants.
In the Vertical race, victory went to Italian Silvia Boscacci, who dominated the course, followed by Slovenian Klara Velepec, who took silver. Aina Garreta crossed the finish line just over 47 seconds behind the winner, securing third place.
Beyond the bronze, Garreta's participation in the French Alps was marked by competitiveness across all disciplines. In the Sprint event, despite a fall at the start of the semifinals, she staged an impressive comeback to fourth place in her heat, ultimately finishing eighth overall.
In the Mixed Relays, partnering with Andalusian Gonzalo Casares, the podium slipped away due to a technical issue just 10 meters from the finish line, when a silver medal was almost secured. They ultimately finished in a commendable but bittersweet fourth place, overtaken by teams from the United States and Italy.
Garreta's current season shows consistent and strong progress. Just a few weeks ago, the skier also excelled at the Spanish Championships held in Aramón Panticosa, where she earned a double medal haul: one gold and one silver.
