The measure, which came into effect this Monday, is a response to the heatwave affecting much of Catalunya. According to forecasts from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, temperatures could exceed 40ºC in inland areas, including the Conca de Tremp and Conca Dellà.
Given this scenario, authorities have banned any activity with fire risk in forest lands and the 400-meter strip surrounding them in municipalities affected by levels 3 and 4 of the protocol. Citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid actions that could compromise the safety of the natural environment.
The Pla Alfa is the operational procedure that defines surveillance and prevention actions in the face of danger. The scale is graded into five levels, with 4 representing extreme risk, leading to increased mobilization of personnel and the implementation of more restrictive preventive measures.
