The Pallars Jussà County Council hired three irregular migrants this February through the Treball i Formació program to strengthen public services and support their local social integration.

This initiative by the Pallars Jussà County Council targets non-EU migrants who were in an irregular administrative situation. The program offers a real opportunity for social and labor roots to people who have lived in the region for more than two years.
The three employees, originally from Morocco, Colombia, and Peru, are working as public servants. This role facilitates their knowledge of local institutions, the territory, and the language, which are essential elements for full integration.

"These types of programs are important for the future of these people but also for the territory."

Ramon Jordana · President of the Pallars Jussà County Council
The new staff will support areas with real reinforcement needs, particularly in environmental services and maintenance. The program is subsidized by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) and has been active since 2013.
