The mountain resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) have concluded an exceptional winter season, exceeding one million visitors for the first time, a milestone attributed to abundant snowfall.

The six Pirineu365 resorts —La Molina, Vall de Núria, Vallter, Boí Taüll, Espot, and Port Ainé— recorded a total of 1,018,801 visitors, an unprecedented figure that places them among the best in Spain. From the Puríssima Bridge to Easter Monday, they offered up to 124 days of snow sports and a varied range of complementary activities.

"This has been an extraordinary season in terms of snow precipitation, which has led to immense work by our resort teams to have them ready. Many people have enjoyed our resorts, skiers have had a good time and have returned, and I believe it has been a successful season with extraordinary figures."

Carles Ruiz Novella · President of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya
The president of Ferrocarrils, Carles Ruiz Novella, highlighted the positive economic impact of this visitor growth, noting that the resorts represent 11% of the GDP in the regions where they are located. He added that preparations are already underway for the summer season, with the goal of maintaining the Pirineu365 project and welcoming a new record number of visitors, consolidating the Catalan Pyrenees as a year-round tourist destination.
Snowfall has been key to the success, with accumulated depths not seen in the last 10 years, such as 673 meters at Vallter or 578 at Boí Taüll. Peak depths were reached between late January and mid-February, with 350 cm at Boí Taüll and 340 cm at Port Ainé. This abundance of snow not only attracted skiers but also allowed the slopes to remain open with exceptional snow quality, complemented by a wide gastronomic offer, snow groomer rides, recreational parks, and snowshoe routes.
Individually, La Molina led with 401,283 visitors over 124 days, followed by Vall de Núria (158,579 over 103 days), Boí Taüll (172,499 over 118 days), Port Ainé (128,922 over 120 days), Espot (84,447 over 120 days), and Vallter (73,071 over 124 days). The new Flexipass initiative, allowing skiing at all six resorts, was used by 3,370 people, totaling 13,726 ski days.
In just over two months, the resorts will reopen for summer activities, aiming to de-seasonalize activity and diversify the offerings, positioning the Catalan Pyrenees as an attractive destination 365 days a year.
