The Cambuleta Cultural Association and the local councils of Pallars Sobirà and Pallars Jussà have introduced a new campaign in Sort to protect the endangered Pallarès dialect.

The project, titled Morralet lingüístic, provides a welcome kit to all babies born in 2026. This kit includes a storybook written in the local dialect, a double CD with traditional songs, and a bib featuring local vocabulary, aiming to foster an emotional connection with the region's linguistic roots.

"We want all children in Pallars to know and speak our variant, which is one of our most unique features."

Local authorities, including Carles Isus and Ramon Jordana, warned that the dialect is fading due to the pressure of standard Catalan and demographic changes. The initiative follows successful models from the Aragon border strip, focusing on teaching the language to the youngest citizens to ensure its survival.
