The Esterri d'Àneu Town Council and the Bishopric of Urgell have restricted access to Sant Vicenç church since February 26th following reports of falling plaster from the facade.

The preventive closure was triggered by debris falling from the main front of the historic building. To ensure public safety, the Bishopric of Urgell has cordoned off the perimeter, preventing general access to the interior of the temple until further notice.
Parish life continues on a limited basis, as the church only opens its doors during scheduled mass times. During these periods, specific safety measures are implemented to allow worshippers to enter the building without risk.
Mayor Pere Ticó confirmed that a solution is imminent. The Bishopric has informed the local government that repair works on the facade's plasterwork are expected to commence next week, aiming to restore full access shortly.
