The Sort City Council has initiated the construction of a new pump track, a circuit designed for bicycles and scooters, with the aim of enhancing the sports and leisure offerings in the municipality.

This new facility will be strategically located behind the sports center, in an area that already concentrates a significant part of the town's recreational activity, close to the skatepark and the municipal swimming pools. With this action, the council seeks to consolidate this sector as a reference point for physical activity, complementing other existing infrastructures such as the football field or the Canoeing School Canal.
The project is inspired by models successfully implemented in other municipalities in the region, such as Barruera or Arties, where pump tracks and skateparks coexist as shared spaces. This work represents the fulfillment of one of the current government team's commitments for the current legislature and concludes the adaptation process of this sports area. According to the planned schedule, the works will be completed in the coming weeks, with the expectation that the circuit will be available to residents and visitors this summer.
A pump track is a circuit with banked turns and small jumps that allow movement through body inertia, without the need to pedal. Although its origin lies in BMX bikes, the track being built in Sort will also be suitable for skateboards, scooters, and other wheeled modalities, offering an inclusive space for different ages and skill levels.
Beyond its purely sporting aspect, this type of installation also has a strong social and recreational component, promoting outdoor physical activity, coexistence, and the shared use of public space. These spaces become meeting points for young people and families, fostering healthy habits and revitalizing community life. Furthermore, this facility can reinforce Sort's appeal as a destination linked to sports and nature, expanding leisure options for both the local population and visitors.
