The town of Sort, in Pallars Sobirà, will become the gastronomic hub of the Pyrenees from April 2nd to 4th with the celebration of the 14th Artisan Cheese Fair of Catalonia, offering a program that blends gastronomy, culture, and territory.

Throughout the Holy Week weekend, Parc del Riuet will host the Cheese Market, open morning and afternoon. Twenty cheese dairies from across the country will participate, giving visitors the opportunity to meet producers, taste their artisan cheeses, and learn about the craft's secrets. The Tasting Area will complement the experience with pairings of cheeses, wines, and artisan beers from Pallars.
This edition of the fair goes further, with a program that integrates gastronomy, culture, and the rich heritage of the territory. Among the most notable proposals are guided tastings such as Harmony of Flavors, led by sommelier Ramon Roset, and Excellence of Cheese, which will feature products awarded at the Fira de Sant Ermengol. Visitors can also enjoy the experience The Historic Pantry of Pallars Sobirà, which highlights milk and pork as fundamental elements of traditional life.
One of the most unique activities will be Observing the Sky, Tasting the Earth, a nocturnal proposal that combines astronomy with gastronomy under the Starlight sky of the Pyrenees, featuring a cheese and wine tasting in an incomparable natural setting.
The program also includes cultural and recreational activities for all ages. From guided tours like Sort with a Taste of History, to participatory experiences such as Tasta-mos!, a blind tasting with the humor of Esperanceta, or the family scavenger hunt Who Ate the Cheese?. Younger visitors can enjoy educational proposals like From Field to Plate? or The Sheep Game, designed to discover the origin of food and the world of livestock.
Music will play a significant role with vermouth concerts and evening performances, covering styles from covers to rumba and rock, creating a festive atmosphere that will accompany the entire fair. As a novelty, the fair will host the presentation of the Fet al Parc brand, a joint initiative of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park to promote local and sustainable agri-food products.
